Technical Material Developers will develop the following types of materials for our clients in oil, gas, and chemical organizations:

• Operator and maintenance training materials
• Maintenance, safety, and operations standards

• Collect information for material development (almost all work is done in our office)
  • Analyze client’s technical documents, drawings, and data
  • Research technical information
  • Interview and observe hourly employees, supervisors, and engineers
  • Take pictures or videos on-site
• Develop materials in a pre-determined format, from the information collected. Development requires:
  • Writing text, describing the content of the materials
  • Developing and/or placing graphics into the materials that depict content, using Microsoft Visio or our object library
• Review materials with clients and finalize materials based on client input
• Develop tests for materials when appropriate

• Strong word processing skills using Microsoft Word, including the ability to type
• Chemical or mechanical engineering degree, or technical degree
• Experience in technical writing, review, and analysis of technical documents (such as P&IDs, process descriptions, MSDS’s, equipment descriptions), preferably in refining and chemical plants.
• Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio (graphics development), and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, work independently and as part of a team
• Available for limited travel (U.S. and internationally)

• Refinery or petrochemical (not nuclear) experience in maintenance, operations, and/or engineering – with a solid understanding of the respective field
• Proficient computer skills in Share Point, Captivate and/or other animation software, LMSProject management experience with technical material development
• PSM and training experience
• Management and leadership experience
